Children 4 years old through 12th grade:

Sunday School runs concurrent with worship service each Sunday.  Throughout the school year, in grade level classes, kids learn biblical lessons about love, trust, faith and joy, while discovering how to connect with God in a real, day-to-day way. They read Bible stories, play games and make art projects.

These classes are an energetic, interactive children’s church where they have a mix of singing, illustrated lessons, skits, prizes, and prayer times designed to entertain, engage and enlighten. We desire to reach kids in a way that makes a lifelong impact for Christ.

During the summer we have a Fun in the Son activity for children of all ages, (except days when the congregation worships at the New Scotland Presbyterian Church).

Check our Calendar for details and other special events.

Our children’s ministry is staffed by dedicated and screened ministry servants.

Ages 0 through 3 years:

Nursery care is available with a child-friendly bathroom, changing facilities and safe play or rest opportunities. Infants and toddlers are a beloved part of our congregation. The sound of small voices is music to our ears! In addition, there are rocking chairs at the rear of the sanctuary for soothing infants. The nursery is staffed by experienced, screened caregivers.

Confirmation:

FUMCV conducts a 13 week confirmation program.  It is designed for youth in 8th grade or older.  Each youth meets with his/her self-selected mentor throughout the program to discuss many topics related to adopting the Christian faith and lifestyle.  In addition there are four group meetings, group trips, and a retreat at Skye Farm camp. Classes start in January.  Contact the office for the actual start dates of the next program and for information on how to enroll.

Vacation Bible School:

A 5-day, Bible-oriented, fun, and active program for school-aged kids.  It is held weekdays from 9:00 AM to noon during a selected week in late June.  Crafts, music, games, stories, snacks!  Contact the office for details or check the calendar..
