Shaping Positive Attitudes and Social Skills
Preschool marks the first step in your child's educational journey. It serves as the foundation for their attitudes towards themselves, others, and school as a whole. At our school, we recognize the pivotal role we play in fostering these positive attitudes. We provide an environment that offers children their initial chance to interact with peers and develop fundamental attitudes crucial for adapting to societal structures beyond the comfort of their homes.

This preschool has equipped my child with the skills they needed to do really well in kindergarten. Both educationally and socially!

Welcome to Voorheesville’s Community Cooperative Preschool!
Our program focuses on fostering student cooperation through various engaging activities. We believe that cooperative playtime, listening skills, and following directions are key in developing strong social bonds among students. Furthermore, we encourage sharing ideas and events as a group, which helps to promote teamwork and inclusivity.
The development of both large and small motor skills is also a crucial component of our curriculum. By engaging in physical activities and exercises, students will improve their coordination and dexterity. Moreover, our program aims to cultivate an awareness of time, nature, sequence of events, and the relationship of objects. Through hands-on experiences, children will gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.
We strive to provide enrichment activities that go beyond the regular curriculum. Special events and guest speakers are arranged to broaden students' horizons and expose them to new experiences. These activities aim to spark curiosity and inspire a love for learning.
At Voorheesville’s Community Preschool, we recognize that each student has unique needs. Therefore, we make every effort to meet the individual requirements of every child, including academic support when appropriate. By tailoring our approach to each student, we create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
In line with the cooperative spirit of our preschool, we strongly encourage parental involvement. We believe that parents play a crucial role in their child's education, and we invite them to serve on committees and volunteer in the classroom for parties, projects, or other special occasions. By working together, we create a strong community that supports the growth and development of each child.
Join us at Voorheesville’s Community Preschool and let us embark on a journey of cooperation, exploration, and growth together.

At Voorheesville’s Community Preschool, our program runs from the Monday following the opening day of the Voorheesville Central School system in September until the Friday before Memorial Day. We offer two classes, one for four-year-old children and, depending on enrollment projections, one for three-year-old children. Our classes are divided into morning and afternoon sessions, each lasting two and a half hours.
The four-year-old classes meet three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. For the three-year-olds, classes are held twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We limit class sizes to 16 students for the four-year-old classes and 14 students for the three-year-old classes. This ensures that each child receives the attention they need to thrive in our preschool environment.
In terms of scheduling, our morning sessions run from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, while the afternoon sessions take place from 12:15 pm to 2:45 pm. This allows families to choose a time that best suits their needs.
At Voorheesville’s Community Preschool, we strive to provide a simplified structure that allows children to explore and learn in a nurturing environment.
